ST.PETERSBURG, FLORIDA- A woman of 21 was lethally shot while sitting in a vehicle with two little kids at a bustling convergence in St. Petersburg, police said.
According to St. Petersburg police representative Yolanda Fernandez, the shots had apparently come from another vehicle that killed K’Mia Simmons on Tuesday. The youngsters and a man who was driving the Volvo were not harmed, she said. Simmons was taken to a clinic where she later passed away due to her wounds.

Fernandez said in a news meeting that the lady was not the proposed focus of the shooting, but rather the actual vehicle probably was. She added that the shooting was not a consequence of irrational anger.
In addition, Fernandez said, “This is a particularly concerning case because not only was she killed, there were also two small children who were in the car and Luckily they were not hurt.”
No further details pertaining to the case are being released.
