The Peace and Justice Institute at Valencia College is about to provide quality teacher training
The Peace and justice institute at Valencia College is thinking about providing the development, training, and workshops to the teachers. It is aimed to help teachers form an inclusive classroom with having a more respectful environment. They are planning to do so, this summer.
Rachel Allen, who is the director of Valencia’s Peace and Justice Institute has stated that:
“The goal of the teacher academy is to provide a transformative experience for teachers to develop a greater understanding of self, so as to be able to more effectively teach all of our students in classrooms that feel safe, inclusive, and equitable.”
She further stated that:
“The ultimate goal is to create more respectful, compassionate and loving citizens – which is why we’ve included training for those who care for children from birth through post-secondary education.”
