WINTER PARK, FLORIDA- COVID-19 breaks the tradition of the annual egg hunt in Winter Park for the second time.

Before COVID-19, the park was sure to continue its tradition of Easter egg hunt for nearly 65 years continuously.

City Manager, Randy Knight said, “Winter Park’s Annual Easter egg hunt is the city’s longest-running community event. COVID-1-9 can stop us from congregating in large numbers but it cannot stop us from celebrating. We just need to do it in a different way, from a safe distance.”

Instead, 3 small parades will be held on April 3 to celebrate the Easter egg hunt. The parade is to be started at 9 a.m.

According to the parade plan, there will be an Easter bunny who will hop down in three different neighborhoods.

People who are interested in attending these parades are requested to maintain COVID-19 safety and precautionary measures to be on the safe side.

Deputies say a woman called them to say she saw a suspicious man standing near the pond. Deputies talked with Hartman but everything seemed fine.

Sanford police recovered his truck with his wallet, cell phone, and keys inside two days later that incident. Hartman’s family filed a missing complaint on Oct. 29.

“Honestly we’ve gone through all the scenarios,” said his sister Lindsey Hartman, who came down from North Carolina to help with the search. “The best one we’ve come up with is he’s disoriented and walking around somewhere. He likes to walk. He could have ended up several towns over.” The records show Hartman moved from North Carolina earlier this year to live with his brother in Winter Park for a fresh start.

Hartman is described as 5′10′’ tall and was last seen wearing a red T-shirt and brown pants. Anyone with information can call the family tip line at (856) 813-7704 or Winter Park police at 407-644-1313.
