WINTER GARDEN, FLORIDA: According to the Winter Garden police, a bicyclist was struck and killed by a car on Thursday morning.

Records show the deadly crash was reported at 5:49 a.m. on 9th Street at Smith Street in Winter Garden.

The bicyclist was run over by other vehicles. The victim suffered critical injuries. The victim was rushed to the hospital. Unfortunately, he died later.

As per the crash report, the victim was in black clothes riding a black bike with no lights. After the victim was struck by a vehicle several vehicles run over the victim. Police said many of that vehicles did not stay at the scene.

In a news release, police said, “It is believed that based on the time of day, the dark clothing, and the lack of light, that these (drivers) may not be aware of what they struck.”

The crash is under investigation.

WINTER GARDEN, FLORIDA: According to the Winter Garden police, a shooting near a church in Winter Garden on Monday morning left 2 juveniles injured.

Records show the shooting happened near the Church of Christ at East Bay and 9th Street.

As per the report, the officers believe out of the two victims, one lives at the home. The victim was struck by a bullet.

Officials said the two were shot along Bay Street. The Winter Garden police said then they ran to a house on Klondike Street.

The victims were rushed to Orlando Regional Medical Center. The reports say they suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

The identity of the victims has not been released. The shooter fled the scene.

The shooting is under investigation. No more details are available at the moment.

WINTER GARDEN, FLORIDA: According to the Winter Garden Police Department, a woman was found dead in an apartment.

While authorities responded at the apartment around 3:15 p.m. for a wellbeing check, they found a dead body. The reports say 44-year-old Gislaine DeLima Felipe was found dead at the Promenade Apartments on Winter Garden Vineland Road.

As per the reports, deputies found information that Felipe’s estranged husband was leaving messages with mutual friends claiming responsibility for her death.

Records say the estranged husband fled to an apartment complex in West Palm Beach. He later killed himself before the officers could arrest him.

The identity of the man has not been released. The investigation is ongoing.

4 people shot in Winter Garden late Thursday

Recently released reports say four people were shot late Thursday in a Winter Garden neighborhood. As per the reports, the incident was reported at a home on Center Street near 11th Street. The victims are expected to recover.

“With the officer being so close, we had rescue and medical assistance a lot faster,” said Winter Garden police Capt. Jason Pearson .“It looks as though it was a conflict between a couple of people that erupted in gunfire,” Pearson added. “We don’t know if we have a victim and three suspects or what we really have as far as the dynamics of who’s who. We don’t know if it’s self-defense or just a shooting.”

Deputies interrogated the witnesses. Witness Eddie Thomas said his brother was one of the victims. “I did hear 10 shots,” Thomas said. “I just know my brother got shot. I don’t know who else got shot in the situation.”

A pedestrian killed crossing Colonial Drive in Winter Garden

According to the Winter Garden Police Department,  a crash on Tuesday morning in Winter Garden killed a woman. She was in her 60’s.

As per the police reports, a female in her 60’s was crossing State Road 50 with another person when a vehicle driving West struck the woman. As soon as the accident happened  Winter Garden Fire Rescue arrived on the scene. But unfortunately, they pronounced the older female deceased.

Eastbound lanes of Colonial are closed in the area.

“The driver of the only vehicle involved was transported to the hospital but did not have any significant injuries. The subjects who were crossing State Road 50 were not crossing in an area with a crosswalk,” police said.

There is no evidence that the driver was under the influence of alcohol. The driver of the vehicle was cooperative. Police are doing further investigation on this accident.

Some of the guides for pedestrians while crossing a road:  First find a safe place to cross and where there is space to reach the pavement on the other side. Where there is a crossing nearby, use it. It is safer to cross using a subway, a footbridge, an island, a zebra, pelican, toucan, or puffin crossing.
