36 and 66-year-old killed in head-on crash in Inverness

PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla.: The Florida Highway Patrol said a head-on crash on State Road 20 in Putnam County left two men dead.

Records show the incident happened on State Road 20 at Whispering Pines Trail Sunday night. The victims were identified as a 66-year-old man from Green Cove Springs and a 36-year-old man from Palatka.

According to the reports, the 66-year-old was driving in the wrong direction when he crashed head-on into the oncoming car.

Troopers said both the drivers were wearing a seat belt. The victims were pronounced dead at the scene.

The Florida Highway Patrol is doing the investigation. No more details about the crash have been released.

 

17-year-old killed in crash in Putnam County

The Florida Highway Patrol said a single-vehicle crash late on Tuesday night left a teen dead.

The victim was a 17-year-old girl. According to the reports, the victim was traveling west on County Road 308 B near the intersection of Foerster Lane.

Records say the victim lost control of the vehicle and hit a tree on the car’s right side. Troopers said the victim was not wearing a seat belt. The victim’s identity has not been released.

60-year-old man died in a crash in Putnam County

According to the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, a single-vehicle crash on Sunday left a man dead. Deputies said the victim is identified as a 60-year-old man.

The reports say the driver was traveling south on County Road 315 in the area of Spring Lake Drive around 6:30 p.m. The  Florida Highway Patrol said the vehicle left the road to the left south of Spring Lake Drive and overturned in a ditch east of County Road 315.

Records say the victim was not wearing a seat belt. The FHP is doing the investigation.

47-year-old died in a crash in Putnam County; 4 other injured

A deadly crash that happened just before 5:00 Tuesday night left 1 dead and 4 injured. A 47-year-old man from Melrose died in the crash. The crash happened on State Road 100 near the intersection of Bardin Road in Putnam County.

The report shows the Florida Highway Patrol said a 59-year-old woman from Palatka and a 72-year-old woman from Florahome were traveling west at State Road 100 when the driver lost control.

Troopers said the 59-year-old driver suffered critical injuries. According to the records, the 47-year-old man of Melrose who was driving the oncoming vehicle died. A 46-year-old female passenger, also of Melrose, is critically injured.

The Florida Highway Patrol is doing the investigation. No more details have been released.

9 people arrested in operation “Bad Candy” in Putnam County

Putnam County Sheriff’s Office conducted a patrol that resulted in the arrest of 9 people on Friday. Reports say the warrant operation dubbed “Bad Candy”.

“Unfortunately, we have seen that those who commit these drug-related crimes continue to do so without concern for their families or friends,” Sheriff H.D. ‘Gator’ DeLoach said. “Drug-related crimes ultimately hurt people. To feed bad habits, drug users will steal to fund their next hit. Additionally, those who deal in drugs continue to pollute our community with poison.”

The report shows officials are still searching for Quindarrius Lampley, Evan “Seven” Brown, Dominique “DaDa” Seymour, Shannon Bryant, Brandy Terrill, and Michele Blackwelder on drug-related felony warrants.

“Make no mistake we will continue to arrest and charge those who abuse or sell drugs in Putnam County,” DeLoach said.
