16 Year Old Joshua Shot To Death At Ocala Apartment Complex

Ocala, Florida — On July 22, at approximately 9:30 p.m., a 16-year-old boy was shot at Sutton Place Apartments, located at 523 NE 23rd Circle, Ocala.

A heart-wrenching accident happened on Thursday night at Ocala Apartment Complex. A teen, who has been identified as Joshua Tyson, was transported to a local hospital where he died shortly after midnight. He was shot multiple times and was critically injured. 

Police officials wrote in a Facebook post “Sadly, the 16-year-old victim has died from his injuries. This happened just after midnight on July 23,”. They also mentioned, “OPD is working with the family during this difficult time.”

Detectives and police are investigating and looking for the shooter. No information of suspect or person of interest in the case is released yet.

Latest update: Another 18 year old teen has been shot hours apart from the death of Joshua Tyson. The community is shocked. The Ocala police department is currently on the scene and investigating the incident. Ocala police say the 18-year-old was shot at the Promenade at Ocala apartments.The shooting happened in the middle of the afternoon at a complex with many children. Police are still searching for the person or persons that shot the teen.

OCALA, Fla. – Police reported that a 14-year-old boy was killed in a single-vehicle accident in Ocala on Monday night. The terrible crash occurred on NW 42nd Street.

The SUV the boy was driving collided with a telephone pole and was nearly cut in two. According to Ocala.com, a portion of the chain-link fence that divides the highway from the Silver Springs Bottled Water Company was also destroyed.

Ocala police tweeted Tuesday morning, “Our hearts go out to the family at this terrible time.” “At this time, the collision is still being investigated.”

Following the collision, police closed 42nd Street between NW 27th Avenue and NW 23rd Avenue.

OCALA, FLORIDA- According to the Ocala Police Department, a driver of a stolen car was arrested upon a pursuit stopped.

According to the news, the attempt to stop the vehicle using stop sticks has been unsuccessful. The vehicle had then entered the I-75 northbound, where according to the officers it had tried to pursue away from the members of the Ocala police department.

Apparently, the driver of the stolen car was ultimately tried with using a PIT maneuver by the deputy and was successful in stopping him. The driver was immediately taken to Marion Jail County, according to the deputies.

OCALA FLORIDA- According to the investigators, a man of 32, Trevor Henderson was arrested upon pointing a gun at Ocala Police Officer.

According to the report, the officers received a call about a drunken person and upon responding to the complaint, the man had pointed the gun at one of the officers.

According to the officials, both a man and a woman were seen intoxicated at the scene.

The woman upon questioning said that they both went downtown to grab some drinks after a tiresome week.

Apparently, they were drunk to a point that their words were slurring. The officers had offered the couple a ride home and were dropped off at the woman’s residence.

Upon leaving the house the officers had apparently heard a loud male voice followed by a crash. As they got close to the house the couple was seen struggling.

The woman answered the door when the officers had knocked and she assured everything was alright between the two.

While the investigator was still in conversation with the woman, the man, Henderson had pointed to a gun that was described to be a Springfield XDS 9mm handgun.

Henderson was tackled by the officer and the situation was under control and nobody was reported to be hurt.

Henderson was immediately arrested.

OCALA, FLORIDA: As per the Florida Highway Patrol, an 80-year-old man, from Ocala, was hit by a tank truck on Wednesday evening. The victim was crossing the road.

The tank truck was driven by a 46-year-old Inverness man. The man was driving a 1992 Chevrolet tank truck north on U.S. 41. It was heading the intersection of SW 86th Street in Marion County.

Troopers said the 80-year-old man who was struck was the truck at around 6:30 p.m. The crash report says the victim was trying to cross the road and get back to his broken Nissan Juke.

The victim suffered life-threatening injures and was immediately taken to the hospital. His current condition is not known.

The identity of the victim has not been released.

Also, along with the driver of the tank truck, a 46-year-old woman was inside the truck. The report says they did not suffer injures.

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the case.

OCALA: The Ocala Police Department is investigating the recent shooting that left two men wounded. Their identity has not been released.

The shooting happened at around 9:30 p.m. near mile marker 350 on I-75 southbound. After arriving at the scene the officers found the vehicle had been shot multiple times.

As per the reports, the vehicle was traveling south toward Tampa.

Officials said, “Two of the males in the vehicle being shot at were struck by bullets”. “Both were transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.”

The shooting is under investigation. No more details are available at the moment. Deputies are searching the vehicle of the suspects.

As per the reports, deputies arrested a 14-year-old boy accused of removing a weapon from the scene where a 15-year-old was killed at an Ocala apartment complex.

Records show a deadly shooting that happened  Sunday at the Sutton Place apartments off Northeast 3rd Street near State Road 40 left a 15-year-old boy later identified as Chris “Chevy” Chevelon Jr. dead. Chevelon was a 10th grader at Ocala Vanguard High School, where he played football on the junior varsity team.

According to the reports, a 14-year-old boy was arrested on Tuesday on charges of tampering with evidence. After the shooting, Chevelon fell to the ground and the 14-year-old was seen on video taking a gun from Chevelon. The 14-year-old’s identity has not been released due to age.

Deputies said the teen admitted to taking the gun, but the weapon has not yet been recovered.
