BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA: According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a man lost his life after he was run over and killed in a crash involving a motorcycle.

As per the reports, the crash happened at 12:50 a.m. on U.S. 1 near 1st Street.

The man was identified as a 32-year-old from Melbourne. The man was riding north on U.S. 1. Troopers said he lost control of the motorcycle and traveled onto the grass median and into the southbound lanes. The motorcycle laid down.

A pickup truck driver tried to make an attempt to turn the truck in order to avoid the man. But unfortunately, the pickup ran over the biker. The pickup truck was driven by a 51-year-old Vero Beach man.

Records say the victim was not wearing a helmet. The reports made by the Florida Highway Patrol say the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The identity of the victim has not been released.

The pickup driver was not injured.

The crash is under investigation.

MELBOURNE, FLORIDA: As per the Melbourne police, a body was found inside a car in the Eau Gallie River. The officials responded to the scene near Ballard Park Tuesday morning.

The scene has been covered up and the authorities were collecting evidence from the scene. According to Lt. Trevor Schaffer, the case is described as a “suspicious incident”.

In the early morning, the crew was present on the scene. A dive team and detectives were investigating the scene.

The dead body was transported to the hospital for further investigation. The identity of the body is not known.

The crime investigating team was doing the preliminary investigation. The detailed information is not available at the moment.

MELBOURNE, Fla.: As per the recently released reports, the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public for help locating a missing woman who was last seen in September 2019.

The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office said Monday that Tara Coppola was last seen Sept. 12, 2019 with an unknown man at the Kaival Liquor Store at 3330 W. New Haven Ave. in West Melbourne.

Tara is described as 5’07” tall, about 115 pounds, and has brown hair and eyes. She also has tattoos on both hands, hips, and her left ankle.

The Sheriff’s Office officials said Coppola was only recently reported missing. “She was reported missing to us recently and the preliminary investigation has not uncovered information in reference to her whereabouts.”

According to the Melbourne police, they responded to a shooting around 4:48 p.m. Wednesday at the Circles of Care on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

The victim identified as Travis Knight was found with a gunshot injury in the parking lot. He was later pronounced dead.

In the investigation, police arrested Robert C. Quackenbushon with first-degree murder charges. He was being held without bond.

Police said Quackenbushon was taken into custody at the scene. Quackenbush attempted to get rid of the gun near the scene. Deputies were collecting evidence through the evening.

According to the Melbourne Police Department, a Florida man blamed a pedestrian after hitting her with his SUV. The reports say the man refused to stop and help the victim.

Records say the victim was leaving a Walmart on Wickham Road around 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 10 when a blue Ford SUV hit her as she was crossing the parking lot.

“You were in the way,” the driver yelled, as per the reports. Police got security footage of the scene.  The footage captured the SUV’s license plate number.

The owner of the SUV was identified as John Costello, of Melbourne. Costello said his brother had borrowed the SUV and was driving at the time of the crash. However, police were able to locate another surveillance video from a gas station that showed Costello driving the SUV that day and he was wearing the same clothes he was wearing when officers interviewed him.

The reports confirmed the suspect was the 32-year-old John Costello.

Records show Costello was charged with leaving the scene of a crash with bodily injury.

52-year-old homeless man struck and killed while lying on travel lane on Thanksgiving Day

According to the Melbourne Police Department, a homeless man was fatally struck by a vehicle on Thanksgiving Day. The reports say he was lying in one of the travel lanes on northbound Highway A1A.

The 52-year-old victim identified as David Wesley Blake was lying in the road around 3 a.m. Thursday. Unfortunately, due to heavy injuries, the victim was pronounced dead.

In the investigation, it was found that the 35-year-old driver did not appear to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

However, authorities are doing further investigation.

A triple shooting happened early Thursday at a Melbourne restaurant resulted in the death of one person.

Melbourne police officers responded to 321 Tax and Lizzy’s restaurant to a report of a shooting. According to the reports, all three victims were taken to Holmes Regional Medical Center, where one victim has died as a result of the shooting.

Melbourne police said officers were called to the restaurant and found three victims suffering from gunshot wounds.

Melbourne police Commander Heath Sanders said two of the victims were shot inside the restaurant and the other was shot outside the business. Deputies say one of the surviving victims was shot in the face and the other is in critical but stable condition.
