Miami news - Cuban-American protestors want Biden to Pressure

Miami News

Miami, Fl. – Thousand Cuban-American protesters in Washington protest in front of White House and want President Joe Biden to do more to pressure the regime.

Thousands of anti-regime protesters gathered outside the White House on Sunday and stayed overnight until Monday to pressure Joe Biden to address socialist Miguel Diaz-Canel’s actions against the Cuban people.

The group stayed at night for planned candlelight at midnight to mark the 26th of July Movement, a Cuban national holiday commemorating the 1953 attack when Fidel Castro made his first attempt to overthrow the then Cuban dictator Fulgencio Batista.

“I’m 27 and I never thought I’d live to see something like this,” said Perez, a Hialeah resident who moved to the United States from Cuba seven years ago. “We need to make sure there’s pressure for people who didn’t have to go through what I went through to know what’s going on in Cuba.”

Miami Republican Representative Maria Elvira Salazar joined by candle and cellphone light vigil Sunday night. More elected officials are expected to join the protests on Monday.

More people arrived in DC in the early hours of Monday and immediately went to the White House to join the protest.

An 18-wheeler with “S.O.S. Cuba” spray-painted on its trailer did laps around the White House honking its horn, and the crowd on Monday morning swelled to a few thousand people.

More and more people are moving to Washington to support Cuban-American protesters.

Everyone is waiting to see how President Joe Biden reacts to this. Stay tuned with us for more updates.

Biden to address Congress on 28th April

Biden

On Wednesday, 28th April President Joe Biden is set to deliver his first address to a joint session of Congress. This would be one day before his 100th day as president.

The White House confirmed that on Tuesday night, President Joe Biden accepted an invitation from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to address a joint session on that date.

The speech will allow President Biden to claim progress during his first 100 days, a benchmark historically for the presidency. A time for President Joe Biden’s speech has not been announced.

Pelosi asked President Biden in a brief letter to the president to “share your vision for addressing the challenges and opportunities of this historic moment.”

White House press secretary Jen Psaki has previously indicated Biden’s first joint session address – which fulfills a constitutional requirement  – could look different than past addresses because of precautions during the coronavirus pandemic.

All senators and House members of both parties, as well as Supreme Court justices, typically pack the House chamber for State of the Union and joint session presidential speeches. It’s unclear what steps could be taken.

President’s debut presidential speech to Congress will fall significantly later on the calendar than previous presidents, including Donald Trump and Barack Obama, who both addressed Congress for the first time in February.

President Biden’s presidential term began with heightened security at the Capitol following the Jan. 6 Capitol attack and coincided with the Senate’s impeachment trial of Trump. Democrats in Congress spent the next several weeks working to pass Biden’s COVID-19 relief bill.

Since its passage, Biden has put forward a $2.25 trillion jobs and infrastructure proposal called the American Jobs Plan that Congress is expected to take up in the coming weeks.

“The people of this nation have spoken. They have delivered us a clear victory, a convincing victory,” Mr. Biden told his supporters in his home town of Wilmington, Delaware. “Let this grim era of demonization in America begin to end here and now,” he said. “I pledge to be a President who seeks not to divide, but to unify,” he said, then addressed Trump’s supporters directly.

Obama to hold campaign in Orlando for Joe Biden

According to the recently released reports, former President Barack Obama is coming to Orlando on Tuesday to host an event for his former second in command, Vice President Joe Biden.

 Orlando for Joe Biden

“Ten days Miami, 10 days until the most important election in our lifetime,” the former president told supporters. “This election requires every single one of us. What we do in these next 10 days will matter for decades to come.”

Records show Biden himself will be back in Florida on Thursday to hold campaign rallies in Tampa and Broward County. Also on Tuesday, Lara Trump will campaign in Cocoa to encourage voters to cast their ballot for her father-in-law, President Trump.

As per the right reports, Trump carried the Sunshine State by just 1 percentage point, or a little more than 100,000 votes, in 2016, and his reelection prospects almost certainly hinge on whether he can win the state again in 2020.

Reports say Donald Trump Jr. will be in Daytona Beach on Wednesday for a ‘Make America Great Again’ rally.

19-year-old man arrested in Kannapolis with van full of guns and explosives

As per the reports, Alexander Hillel Treisman, originally from Washington, was arrested in late May after employees at a bank in Kannapolis, N.C., reported a suspicious white van abandoned in a parking lot. Records show Treisman’s alleged plot against Biden is the reason for him to remain in jail awaiting trial on the child pornography charges.

man arrested in Kannapolis

“Through the windows, KPD officers observed an AR-15 style rifle, a box for a Taurus .380 handgun, a canister of the explosive material Tannerite, and a box of 5.56 caliber ammunition,” a federal judge wrote in a court order last month, referencing testimony from an FBI agent who investigated the case as part of the Joint Terrorism Task Force.

In the investigation, it was found that Treisman allegedly posted a meme on social media on April 15 captioned: “should I kill joe biden?” Along with that internet searches of Treisman between March and May 2020 showed information about Joe Biden’s home address, state gun laws, rifle parts, and night vision goggles.

In addition to that authorities found child pornography on eight electronic devices, along with pictures and posts related to his violent plans.

Police say they found “approximately $509,000 of U.S. currency (believed to be Defendant’s inheritance), books (about survival, bomb-making, improved weapons, and Islam), drawing of swastikas and planes crashing into buildings,” and five more guns in the van outside the bank when he was arrested.
