57-year-old nurse arrested for sexually assaulting

INVERNESS, FLORIDA: Recently released reports say a registered nurse has been arrested for the alleged sexual assault of a patient at a Citrus County Hospital.

As per the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office, on Jan. 6, deputies were reached about an alleged sexual assault of a patient by a staff.

A registered nurse entered her hospital room on several occasions and engaged in sexual activity with her, the victim told the deputy on Jan. 5.

The nurse is identified as Hiram Bonilla, 57, of Tampa.

Detectives investigate the hospital and got evidence to support the victim’s claims.

The nurse confirmed that he had engaged in sexual acts with the victim.

After additional interviews and discussion with the State Attorney’s Office, a warrant was given for Bonilla’s arrest on Jan. 11.

Bonilla is right now being held in the Hillsborough County Jail on two counts of lewd and lascivious battery and one count of lewd and lascivious molestation. Bonilla’s bond was set at $35,000.

36 and 66-year-old killed in head-on crash in Inverness

PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla.: The Florida Highway Patrol said a head-on crash on State Road 20 in Putnam County left two men dead.

Records show the incident happened on State Road 20 at Whispering Pines Trail Sunday night. The victims were identified as a 66-year-old man from Green Cove Springs and a 36-year-old man from Palatka.

According to the reports, the 66-year-old was driving in the wrong direction when he crashed head-on into the oncoming car.

Troopers said both the drivers were wearing a seat belt. The victims were pronounced dead at the scene.

The Florida Highway Patrol is doing the investigation. No more details about the crash have been released.
