2 men arrested for armed robbery now charged with murder in Green Cove Springs shooting

GREEN COVE SPRINGS, Fla.: According to the recently released reports, two men are now facing felony murder charges for the death of an 18-year-old teen identified as Skyler Shane Townsend, of Orange Park.

Records show the deadly shooting was reported on Center Street in Green Cove Springs. The victim was taken to the hospital where he later died.

A 23-year-old Kieshawn Ray Capri Smith and 20-year-old Daveion Breshod Austin were initially charged with armed robbery. On Wednesday additional charges were announced.

Police said the two men are held in the Clay County jail.

As per the recently released report, a shooting in Green Cove Springs left a person dead and two other men hospitalized Tuesday night.

When deputies responded to the scene they found two people with gunshot injuries. Both of them were taken to hospital where deputies said “possibly a juvenile,” died from his injuries.

The reports say a third man arrived at the hospital suffering from a gunshot wound. He did not have life-threatening injuries. According to the police, the third man was involved in the same shooting.

Deputies are doing investigating the shooting. The identity of the victims is not known. Stay Updated!
