2 injured in a fatal crash in Cape Coral

CAPE CORAL, FLORIDA: According to the Cape Coral police, a fatal crash on Del Prado Boulevard in Cape Coral Friday evening left two injured.

Katelyhn Ower, identified as the driver of the car, was critically injured. The crash reports say Otis Ower, the passenger of the car, suffered minor injuries.

The Cape Coral police said the driver was going northbound on Del Prado Boulevard North in the 3200 block. The car collided with a tree when the driver did not make a left turn.

As per the crash reports, the car ignited into the fire after the crash. Authorities believe alcohol or drugs is the reason that led to the crash.

The Cape Coral Police Department is doing further investigation on the crash.

WINTER GARDEN, FLORIDA: According to the Winter Garden police, a bicyclist was struck and killed by a car on Thursday morning.

Records show the deadly crash was reported at 5:49 a.m. on 9th Street at Smith Street in Winter Garden.

The bicyclist was run over by other vehicles. The victim suffered critical injuries. The victim was rushed to the hospital. Unfortunately, he died later.

As per the crash report, the victim was in black clothes riding a black bike with no lights. After the victim was struck by a vehicle several vehicles run over the victim. Police said many of that vehicles did not stay at the scene.

In a news release, police said, “It is believed that based on the time of day, the dark clothing, and the lack of light, that these (drivers) may not be aware of what they struck.”

The crash is under investigation.

MIRAMAR, FLORIDA: The Florida Highway Patrol said an SUV crash on Wednesday morning just before 1:45 a.m. left a woman dead.

The crash reports show the incident took place on Interstate 75 in Miramar, in the southbound lanes of the highway.

The driver of the white SUV, a 30-year-old woman, was heading south and lost control of the vehicle. Then the driver struck the guardrail on the right shoulder.

Troopers said the vehicle veered to the left collided with the concrete barrier wall before traveling across all southbound lanes and entering the paved median.

A 60-year-old woman who was in a passenger seat suffered life-threatening injures. She was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital. Unfortunately, she died later.

The driver of the car got critical injuries. A 30-year-old man and an 8-year-old boy suffered non-life-threatening injures.

None of the people inside the SUV was wearing seatbelts. The crash is under investigation.

LAKE MARY, FLORIDA: The Seminole Fire Rescue said a crash that happened in the early morning on Friday on Interstate 4 left 3 injured.

Records show the crash took place around 4 a.m. It was a two-vehicle crash. Authorities said one of the people was possibly ejected.

The victims were rushed into the hospital. According to the crash report, one of the victims was taken to the hospital as a trauma alert.

One of the victims suffered less serious injuries. The reports say the third victim allegedly denied to take medical help in spite of the advice of rescue workers.

Officials were collecting evidence at the scene, so the two right lanes of I-4 were blocked.

VOLUSIA COUNTY, FLORIDA: As per the recently released reports, a suspected carjacker who was fleeing from the police collided with another vehicle head-on. The deadly crash left 3 people dead.

Records say the suspected carjacker was driving in the wrong way onto Interstate 95. According to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office, the man was fleeing from sheriff’s deputies on northbound I-95. Authorities said the man was involved in a carjacking in Orange County earlier Tuesday.

The crash also left 2 people, who were in the passenger seat of the second vehicle, with traumatic injuries. They were rushed into the hospital.

Highway Patrol Lt. Kim Montes said, three people –  the driver and a passenger of the second car along with the suspected carjacker died.

The identity of the victims has not been released.

An investigation was going on the scene so southbound lanes of I-95 were closed.

The Florida Highway Patrol said the deadly single-vehicle crash happened on Winter Garden Vineland Road at Jacaranda Boulevard near Orlando.

The victim was identified as a 26-year-old woman from Tampa. The reports by the Florida Highway Patrol states the victim was driving a 2013 Toyota Corolla. Troopers said the woman was driving north on Winter Garden Vineland Road.

Reports say the vehicle then struck a tree. According to the troopers, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The woman was wearing a seat belt. The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the reason that led to the crash.

ST. AUGUSTINE, FLORIDA: The Florida Highway Patrol said a head-on crash on State Road 207 Saturday night left 2 dead and 4 injured.

Records show the deadly crash happened when two pickup trucks collided head-on at around 10 p.m. The reports say the driver of a pickup car, a 31-year-old man, from St. Augustine, was driving north in the southbound lanes. The man was going the wrong way on State Road 207.

Troopers said then it struck the second pickup. There were 5 people inside the second pickup.

The two victims, both women, from Ohio, who were on the second pickup were pronounced dead. Two passengers, including a 2-year-old, along with the driver, all from Jacksonville, suffered injuries.

Troopers said the 31-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries. The investigation was going on at the scene so the southbound lanes of S.R. 207 were closed for hours.
