Bay County, Fl. – A Florida woman was killed and three others seriously injured in a two-vehicle Bay County crash on early Saturday.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol press release, a 25-year-old woman from Greenwood City, Fla., was killed while riding a sedan on State Road 79 at approximately 2:50 a.m. She was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Her driver, a 24-year-old woman from Marianna City, Fl., who was not even wearing a seatbelt, was seriously injured. A 24-year-old man from Cottondale City, Fl., who was also in the vehicle, was seriously injured while wearing a seatbelt. A third passenger, a 24-year-old from Caryville, Fl., was wearing a seatbelt and suffered minor injuries.
The 53-year-old male driver of the other vehicle, also a sedan, was seriously injured and was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. He is from Niceville, Fl.
All those injured in the accident were taken to hospitals for treatment.
The press release said the vehicle driven by the woman was heading southbound in the northbound lanes of State Road 79. The second vehicle, driven by the man, was heading northbound on State Road 79 in an inner lane. The woman was traveling in the direct path of the man’s sedan.
