37-year-old man beat his 68-year-old mother to death near Stanford

The Seminole County sheriff’s deputies say a Longwood man beat his mother to death early Thursday morning at her home near Sanford. Vicki Savage, 68, was found dead in her bedroom covered in blood with obvious trauma on her body. The suspect’s uncle found Vicki Savage dead on the bedroom’s floor.

Authorities say Adam Savage called his uncle to describe an “unknown emergency” at the home. The uncle and his sons saw Adam Savage also covered in blood when they reached home immediately. The reports say Adam attacked the uncle and his sons when they tried to go into the bedroom.

In his interview with detectives, Adam “varied between cooperative, violent and dismissive.” In the investigation, he would only talk about his interest in Ultimate Fighting Championship fights. He pretended to fall asleep when investigators tried to question him about what happened.

“There’s still some questions that we are working to answer,” Kealing said. “… The bottom line here is Ms. Savage, 68 years old, had her life taken here in her own home, which is very unfortunate.”
