BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. – A body was discovered in a submerged automobile on Thursday, prompting a death inquiry.

On State Road 514 in Malabar, the body was discovered near the St. Johns Management area boat ramp.

According to deputies, a boater collided with an object while unloading his boat from a trailer. When a dive crew arrived on the site, they located the deceased inside the submerged vehicle, according to investigators.

The person was reported missing from Palm Bay on Tuesday, according to the BCSO.

The homicide and crime scene investigation units are still interviewing people and gathering evidence in this case.
