Former Disney World Employee stole $100 K and gave cash to her close ones
According to the authorities, a former Disney World guest relations employee has been involved in a fraud and has stolen $100K in falsely created refunds and deposited that cash into various accounts. Those accounts are said to be of herself and her close ones.
According to a news release from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Jeniffer Insuasti who is 32 years old and belongs to Kissimmee has been booked into Osceola County Jail. She has been booked on a first-degree felony grand theft charge.
FDLE spokeswoman, Gretl Plessinger has told that none of the family members or the friend of Jennifer has been arrested in the case as of yet, and therefore it might not be possible to identify them for now.
Jennifer used to work for Disney World in guest services and made sure there were no complaints from the unhappy visitors. She used to offer unhappy guests, with free tickets and refunds. According to FDLE investigative report, Jeniffer has been accused of stealing the money from March 2016 to July 2018.
The FDLE press release has indicated that:
“Agents found that, on numerous occasions, using old refund account as a cover, she misdirected money into her personal account or the accounts of her friends. Guests still received their refunds, but money was stolen directly from her former employer.”
According to the FDLE report, connections between Jeniffer and 7 other people have been tracked by investigators with the help of a Facebook account.
Over 40 fake refunds through credit card deposits and cheques have been issued by Jeniffer to herself and her friends. She has stolen from Disney World in “several different ways”, this is what the report has to say, however, no further details were provided.
The fake refunds have been seen to be varying from a few hundred dollars to thousands of dollars. According to FDLE records, Jeniffer asked her family and friends to provide account information to give them the money.
A relative have informed the authorities that she usually used the money to pay for her bills and school books, but often returned the money back to Jeniffer.
Jennifer had put around $16,305 into her own account and almost $24,000 to one of her friend’s account, according to FDLE.
Moreover, the reports indicate that Jeniffer used to work for Disney World for several years and they hired her in 2009, 2013, and 2016. She left in 2018 and started her own business.
