SANTA ROSA BEACH, Fla. – A Florida guy was bitten by a shark while swimming along a fishing line 40 yards from the coast.

The man was carried to a nearby hospital with apparent wounds to his upper torso and chest, where he is expected to recover.

According to firefighters, the shark was likely heading for the fishing line off Santa Rosa Beach on Thursday and may have mistaken the guy for bait.

To warn other swimmers in the area, the fire department flew two red flags. The shark is estimated to be between 7 and 8 feet (2 meters) long.
